Vocab Trainer is a handy vocabulary trainer that tracks student progress, storing a record of each word tested, and returns to items causing difficulty. It provides hints in response to incorrect answers, including real-time colour formatting of the answer for very tricky items - type the wrong letter and the answer goes red. To assist memorisation of gender for nouns, items are presented in colour according to their gender. It reverts to multiple choice when an item is particularly difficult or a student is struggling. Based on the principle that learning is most efficient at a 90% success rate, it mixes easy and difficult items in a continuously monitored learning session, and it automatically schedules items for revision, so that items gradually ascend from unknown to known to mastered.
